ABOUT THE JOURNAL

The University of Dubrovnik is the publisher of the scientific journal for the sea and seafaring titled “Naše more“. The journal “Naše more“ was founded in 1919 by renowned names from the circles of shipowners, seafarers and bankers. It was published for only two years and was then discontinued. It was re-founded in Dubrovnik in 1953, also by notable people from the circles of the shipping industry and business, gathered in the club “Miho Pracat“. In 1991, the editing and publishing was taken over by the Maritime Faculty, which later became the Polytechnic of Dubrovnik and in 2003 the University of Dubrovnik.

The journal is published three times per year and includes additional special issue. The special issue consists of specific as per editor discretion. Priority scientific areas are technical, biotechnical and natural sciences related to the sea, the shore and the underwater environment. The journal covers topics related to navigation, marine technology and marine engineering, maritime industry, economy, transport, shipping, maritime law, oceanology, aquaculture, environmental protection and marine biology, i.e. the sea and seafaring in the broadest sense of the word. In addition, it covers topics related to nautical and coastal tourism. The journal has been ranked according to its excellence in prestigious databases such as Clarivate and Scopus, as the journals with the internationally recognized reviews.

 

Publishing fee:
Journal does not charge any fee for publishing, reading or downloading papers.

License terms and copyright:
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0 that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work’s authorship and initial publication in this journal. Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website) before and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work.

Plagiarism Detection:
All received manuscripts are authenticated with the Turnitin software before being submitted for review.

Authorship:
Authors should follow the criteria to qualify for authorship according to the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) , and as recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
